Planted, not published

Nothing on this site is published. Notes are planted, and later — sometimes — tended. Each carries a badge: a seed is rough and freshly set down; a sprout has been returned to and grown; a tree stands more or less steady.

The vocabulary is doing real work. “Publish” implies a finish line, an editorial gate, a document that would be embarrassing to change. That framing kills more notes than it improves: the thought that isn’t ready for a gate simply never gets written down. Planting inverts the promise. A seed is supposed to be small and unfinished; returning to it later is not a correction but the whole method.

So the badges are not disclaimers. They are an invitation to read a seed the way you’d look at a seedbed — checking what might come up, not judging the absence of shade.
